The Custom Quote Specialist plays a fundamental role in the success and growth with responsibility for quoting shipments that cannot be covered through systemised rates. The role will involve the brokering of freight to ensure results are within customer’s assigned budgets.
A key factor in the success of this quoting position is speed of response and accuracy in delivering customers target price through successful carrier negotiation
Role Responsibilities
- Responsible for researching lane rates and carrier availability to provide quotes for shipments that cannot be covered through systemised rates.
- Provides follow up communication to customers, sales staff and customer service department and to communicate rate quotes for truckload shipments. Also communicates to explain capacity issues, market conditions, current market rates, and works with the sales management team to focus quote tools.
- Acts as point of contact for carriers, and follows up regularly to build relationships and to grow a portfolio of freight companies who can provide broker truckload shipments at desirable rates.
- Quote and close shipments for customers in the event that it is a requirement.
- Monitors customer shipments and leverage relationship with carriers to ensure target pricing and coverage are achieved.
- Liaise with Senior Management to identify changes needed in contracts, terms, and pricing.
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field. Will accept equivalent related work experience.
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in transportation brokerage, freight pricing, or a logistics related position.
- This is a highly time sensitive role and as such excellent time management skills are required along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills in order to ensure both customer and carrier expectations are met.
- Excellent Organisational skills
- Attention to detail,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
- Ability to multi-task,
- Knowledge of the transportation industry.
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook

German Account Coordinators - D18

The German Account Coordinators provide proactive sales support by functioning as primary point of contact for accounts on sales teams and Customer Service Representatives. .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Proactive daily sales and customer support management of accounts for Sales Team. Responsible for working with account Reps and Sales Manager to grow accounts.
· Outbound contact to current customers to repeat shipments, uncover and address any service issues, and maintain communication with accounts
· Provide back-up sales support when Account Representatives, Sales Manager, or other Account Coordinators are out of the office.
· Initiates Service Tickets when unable to resolve issue . Investigate, opens and manages Credit, Customer Service Tickets.
· Evaluate team’s weekly changes and work with Account Representatives and Sales Manager to identify alternative products or solutions to prevent future adjustments on accounts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Leaving certificate or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
Work Experience:
Previous transportation, sales support, and / or customer service experience preferred.
Skills & abilities:
Fluent German speaker
Able to multi-task; provide excellent customer service/support; excellent time management skills; attention to detail and organization in addition to prioritizing is pertinent
